The new book, JIHAD, The Trail of Political Islam by Giles Kepel "will be a welcome respite for anyone who fears the fury associated with militant Islam." Robin Wright in a book review for the NYTimes wrote that "depite the terrorist attacks of September 11 and the Palestinian suicide bombings in Israel, Giles Keppel argues that the trend is, in fact, now on its last legs. The violence is merely a reflection of the movement’s failure, not it’s success. Kepel concedes that the Islamic-Palestinian attacks, under the mantle of holy war, has proven to be a deathtrap for Islamists as a whole.
