I often joke about being 106 or so, but it definitely has been a chunk of time since my teenage years when I thought I knew absolutely everything. Along the way I have gathered a few nuggets that I live by. Here are a few bits that I've gathered and am willing to share; I'm sure I'll have more to add to this list in the coming years.
1. Live as though today is the last day of your life and also live today as though you will live forever. Yes, try to put these two shockingly different ideas together. 2. Life will not always be easy; don't whine about it. 3. It's impossible to understand enough about anything; remain in awe of the mysteries. 4. There is incredible beauty everywhere; constantly look for it. 5. Friends will disappoint you; forgive them. 6. None of us is the center of the earth and I try not to act like I am. 7. You will age and grow older so it's best to observe these changes with interest. 8. I'm sometimes discouraged but I will not stop trying. 9. No one lives forever. Don't expect to. 10. Old age does not include pain. Do not accept your body hurting unless there is good and proven cause. Go to traditional doctors for diagnosis then try other methods, new age ones, for cures. 11. Love well today. 12. Treasure kindness over intellect. Seek both in your friends. Copyright ©1998-2010 by Simon Skill Systems. All rights reserved.
